Project getting underway!
(cutting and gutting)
The base vehicle is a victim of the icy winter roads. It rolled over in a deep snow bank, denting in nearly every panel and breaking the windscreen, but all other windows and the basic structure were undamaged.
Does anyone need any windows?

More progress is being made.
The body is getting cut down to basics, the suspension has been lowered about 1.5 inches, a 3D model is being made, more parts have been purchased, and the design has been finalized.

Got the head off the engine now, installing new valves, rings and bearings.
I am having the original camshaft reground to XFi specifications, with less lift and shorter duration. This will produce more torque at low rpm, and take in less air and fuel at high rpm. It will have a little less power up high, but also is expected to improve efficiency by at least 5%.
I have purchased a set of 13" wheels and tires, to replace the original 12" wheels. This will cause the engine to turn a little slower, to match the modified torque curve. It will also quiet the engine noise on the highway some, which is where many of the miles are going to be driven in this car. |
